精靈鼠小弟 第53期:拿不動(dòng)捕蝶網(wǎng)

It is almost impossible to catch a speedy invisible model automobile even when one is a skillful dentist.

看來，就是一個(gè)醫(yī)術(shù)超群的牙醫(yī)也難抓住一輛看不見的疾馳中的現(xiàn)代式模型車。

"Oh, oh," yelled Stuart, jumping up and down.

“噢，噢，”斯圖亞特上下亂蹦著急叫。

I'm sorry, Dr. Carey, I'm dreadfully sorry!

真抱歉，凱里醫(yī)生，真是太抱歉了!

"Get a butterfly net!" shouted the Doctor.

“去拿捕蝶網(wǎng)來!”醫(yī)生喊。

"I can't," said Stuart.

“我不能，”斯圖亞特說。

I'm not big enough to carry a butterfly net.

我太小了，拿不動(dòng)它。

"That's true," said Dr. Carey. "I forgot. My apologies, Stuart."“那倒是，”凱里醫(yī)生說，“我忘了。我道歉，斯圖亞特。”

"The car is bound to stop sometime," said Stuart, "because it will run out of gas."“那小車早晚會(huì)停，”斯圖亞特說，“因?yàn)樗钠蜁?huì)用光的。”

"That's true, too," said the Doctor.

“也對(duì)，”醫(yī)生說。

And so he and Stuart sat down and waited patiently until they no longer heard any crashing sounds in the room.

于是他就和斯圖亞特坐下來耐心地等著，直到房間里再也聽不到任何嘩啦聲為止。

Then the Doctor got down on his hands and knees and crawled cautiously all over, feeling here and there, until at last he found the car.

然后醫(yī)生開始四肢著地，小心地在四處爬著，伸出手到處劃拉著，最后他終于發(fā)現(xiàn)了那輛小車。

It was in the fireplace, buried up to its hubs in wood ashes.

它停在壁爐里，輪子陷在爐灰之中。
