The head of the Algeria says president Abdelaziz Bouteflika should been declared unfit to rule and remove from office. Lieutenant general Ahmed Gaed Salah who has been a close ally of Mr.Bouteflika until now said the move was allowed under Algeria's constitution and could solve the country's political crisis.

The U.N world food program says the cyclone in southern Africa has wiped out a whole year worth of crops across swathe of Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe. Cylcone Idai destroyed tens of thousands homes in Mozambique, where more than 1.8 million people are in need of assistance.

Officials there and in several other states accused Purdue Pharma of contributing to the opioid crisis by playing down the addiction risks associated with its painkiller OxyContin. Purdue denies wrongdoing.

Moves to fit speed limits and other safety devices towards new vehicles in Europe from 2022 have been provisionally agreed by the European union. Intelligent speed assistance system will become standard after a formal approval, while device will detect tiredness and distractions.
