美國(guó)外賣(mài)#3: Sub三明治
美國(guó)人給三明治起了另外一個(gè)名字:sub, 這個(gè)詞不局限于賽百味(Subway)這一個(gè)品牌。
通常長(zhǎng)面包做的三明治都叫sub,因?yàn)樾螤詈芟駍ubmarine(潛水艇)。
Other things I've got delivered include subs: 其它我會(huì)叫的外賣(mài)還有三明治
Subs are sandwiches made from baguette or long pieces of bread: sub就是指用法棍或其它長(zhǎng)面包做的三明治

美國(guó)白領(lǐng)去哪兒吃午飯?
通常他們?nèi)ヒ环N叫deli的小飯店。這些專(zhuān)做快食,很多也沒(méi)有堂吃;

這類(lèi)deli早上賣(mài)bagel之類(lèi)的早餐;中午則賣(mài)sub、墨西哥卷兒這些午餐;通常還有一個(gè)自助吧,各種沙拉、小菜、中餐可以自選。
Deli經(jīng)濟(jì)實(shí)惠、又特別快,是上班族的大食堂。
P.S. 紐約的deli從前都是猶太人經(jīng)營(yíng)的,但現(xiàn)在主打白領(lǐng)的很多deli都是韓國(guó)人經(jīng)營(yíng)。

不過(guò)美國(guó)最常見(jiàn)的米粉不是桂林米粉,而是越南米粉Vietnamese pho。

這個(gè)名字是Spencer自己發(fā)明的,因?yàn)樵诿绹?guó)的中餐館,麻辣燙并不多見(jiàn)。
