每次發(fā)布會，Tim Cook都會這樣說:

1.Color：顏色

Apple came out with two new colors, two different types of black: 蘋果這次出了兩種新顏色，兩種不同的黑：

Jet black (glossy): 黑色 (亮黑、漆黑)

Black (matte): 黑色(啞光)

加上以前的三個顏色：

rose gold: 玫瑰金

gold: 金

sliver：銀

一共是5個顏色，傳說中的海軍藍(navy blue)并沒有出現(xiàn)。

Black is such a sophisticated color: 黑色是個很高級、有質感的顏色

It's very sleek: 簡單、有品位又有型

I might go for the silver: 我大概還是會選銀色

On Apple's official website, they use the word "finish" instead of color: 蘋果官網(wǎng)用的是“finish"這個詞，而不是"color"

They mean the same: 其實意思都一樣

2.Airpods：無線耳機

Airpods are wireless headphones：Airpods就是無線耳機

They are powered by Bluetooth：是用藍牙驅動的

Doesn't it eat up your battery? 這樣不是很耗電?

On the one hand, I am a fan of wireless headphones: 從一方面來說，我還挺喜歡無線耳機的

Because all the headphones I've ever had with wires I always broke them：因為有線耳機總被我弄壞

For me , the problem is the wire gets all messy and tangled: 我的問題是，有線耳機的電線總會很亂、都繞成一團

Once you put the wire in a bag, the wire has a life of its own: 一旦你把有線耳機放進包里，它就不受你控制了

It's all in knots / knotted up: 線都打結了

It's messy / tangle：亂作一團、繞在一起

I encounter this problem on a daily basis: 我每天都碰到這個問題

用Airpods就沒這個問題啦!可是這耳機要單買，還很貴：

Airpods are not included in the phone. It's sold separately: 不是連手機一起的，要單買

That's how they get you. That's how they up-sell you：就是讓你多付點錢

You can plug your old wire headphones into the headphone jack：不過舊的也可以用，接個轉換頭

But it's like an extra piece of equipment: 還得多弄個配件

3.Dual-lens: 雙鏡頭

Dual 是“雙”的意思，經(jīng)常用在科技領域，例如雙核：dual core。這個詞給人感覺很geeky(技術)。

而且這個詞發(fā)音也有點兒難呢。日常生活中，更口語的說法是double:

double camera

double lens

兩個鏡頭、分工不同：

telephoto lens: 長焦鏡頭

wide angle: 廣角鏡頭

It allows you to zoom 10 times：雙攝像頭可以讓你十倍變焦

It gives you really high resolution pictures：可以拍高清照片

HD picutres = high definitionpictures

美國人不賣腎，賣胳膊和腿

Do you know the meme of selling one of your kidneys to buy an iPhone: 你知道賣腎買iPhone這個梗嗎?

我們調侃說“賣腎”買iPhone, 英語里也有個異曲同工的說法：

To cost an arm and a leg:

相當于一條胳膊、一條腿的價值，指特別貴的東西

例如：

The iPhone 7 Plus costs an arm and a leg.

We don't say selling your kidney: 我們沒有賣腎的說法

But we do make jokes on selling organs for expensive things：但我們也會開玩笑說要賣器官才能買很貴的東西

美國人會賣腎買iPhone7嗎?

美國手機文化和中國有什么不一樣?

1.換手機的頻率

I feel like Chinese seem to buy or upgrade phones a little bit more often：我感覺中國人換手機的頻率好像更高一點

A lot of people like to have the latest phones to be fashionable: 有人覺得用新手機，很時髦

It's like a status symbol: 更像是一種地位象征

Also, Americans can't change phone often because they're locked in contracts: 還有，美國人不能老換手機，因為他們大多數(shù)人都被合約機綁住了

2.合約機 VS 非合約機

1). Contract Phone

在美國， contract phone (合約機)更常見。大多數(shù)人都會選擇合約機。下圖是這詞iPhone 7 Plus的合約機價格，對比非合約機價格：

You get your phone with a contract：合約機

They are locked in these 1-2 year long contracts：美國人常常被1-2年的合同綁住

The longer the contract the cheaper the phone, or you get it for free: 合同越長，手機越便宜，或者免費

But it's super inflexible: 但是超級不靈活

Even if you are on a contract, you might be able to get an upgrade: 有些合約你也可以升級，換手機

Locked phone: 鎖機

If you have a contract phone with a carrier, it might be a locked phone: 和運營商簽的合約機可能是鎖住的

For example, Verizon, doesn't give you a SIM card: 比如, Verizon(美國一個運營商), 根本不給你sim卡

Their phones are locked: 他們都是鎖機

If you travel and want to get a local SIM card, it won't work: 如果你出國，想當?shù)刭ISIM卡，就不行

說到Verizon, Spencer真是一肚子苦水......

The carriers are pushing everyone towards unlimited data plans：運營商都鼓勵大家簽無限流量套餐

Americans pay quite a lot for their cell phone bills, over $100 or even $200 a month: 所以美國人的手機賬單很貴，常常都要100多美金，甚至200美金一個月

Pay in full, unlocked phone: 付全價，解鎖機

You need to pay full price for the phone: 全額付款, 買下手機

You need to pay full retail price for the phone：全額零售價

MSRP: manufacture suggested retail price 生產商建議零售價

You see this word MSRP a lot in the US, buying a car, buying electronics: 在美國，常看到MSRP這個詞，特別是買車、買電器、電子產品

Many stores will list the MSRP and list their own price that's cheaper: 很多店會標出MSRP, 然后再寫一個自己店里的優(yōu)惠價

水貨機

Spencer說美國買不到什么水貨機，有這幾個說法：

smuggled phone

back channel phone

smuggled goods

Smuggle: 走私

Back channel: 非官方渠道

短期去美國旅游，可以買Go Phone

It's called a Go Phone, a short term plan: 是個短期合約, 叫Go Phone

You can get it in Walmart and lots of other places: 沃爾瑪啦，其它很多地方都買得到

It's about $50, 60 a month: 大概50;60刀一個月

Everything is unlimited,unlimited minutes, unlimited data: 流量、電話都是無限的

漫游：roaming

Data roaming: 數(shù)據(jù)漫游

China Mobile has data roaming where it's capped at RMB30 a day, you can use unlimited data in the US: 中國移動現(xiàn)在有流量漫游，30人民幣一天封頂，可以無限量用數(shù)據(jù)

越獄手機: jail-broken phone

We just call it jail break: 越獄，就是jail break

Or a jail-broken phone: 或者可以說jail-broken的手機

Respect official channels: 我還是尊重正規(guī)體系

蘋果生態(tài)體系

One of the biggest reasons I stick with apple products and the iPhone is the podcasts:我一直用蘋果產品、iPhone一大主要原因，就是聽播客

There is a handful of podcasts that I listen to religiously every day and they are such a big part of my life: 有幾個播客，我是每天不拉地聽，是生活里特別重要的一部分

If I don't use Apple, it'll be quite inconvenient to listen to these American podcasts on iTunes: 不用蘋果，要聽這種美國播客會挺不方便的
