Austria's chancellor Sebastian Kurz has called a snap election after the resignation of his deputy and coalition partner over corruption allegations. Mr.Kurz said he had enough scandal linked to the far-right freedom party and was proposing a vote as soon as possible.

He said he came to that conclusion after reading the Muller report. He also accused the attorney general William Barr of misrepresenting the findings of special counsel Muller.

He said the purchase of Russian S-500 defense system was a done deal. Washington has repeatedly warned Turkey, the member of NATO against buying the Russian anti-aircraft missile system.
