The United Kingdom has now recorded more deaths related to Covid-19 than any other country in Europe. It's overtaken Italy's total of more than 29.000. as the death rate in the Britain's care homes continues to rise. Only the United States has lost more lives during the pandemic.

President Trump has confirmed that the White House is discussing winding down its coronavirus task force in spite of the continuing high number of cases. Vice president Mike Pence has suggested that it could be brought to the close within weeks.
