We know Disney is struggling, but it’s Disney - they have a lot of money. Disney’s second quarter profit dropped as the company took a $1.4 billion hit due to the coronavirus pandemic. The question remains, do profits matter that much for billion dollar companies?

In the customer experience community many people like myself talk about the wonders of Disney’s customer experience. We are amazed that the parks feature such a sophisticated operation to keep customers happy, from sensors on garbage cans so no customer ever sees an overflowing trash at the parks, to delicious smells throughout the park like popcorn on main street.

Do they reopen to keep their businesses moving forward or stay closed to potentially protect high-risk customers and flatten the curve. I have empathy for these businesses, but we have to pay attention to science, and the facts. The fact remains Florida - home to Disney World - is not doing well.
