1. The Origin of Chi-pao 旗袍的起源
Chi-pao was the robe of Qing dynasty .It prevailed in the l930s. At that time, Shanghai had been advocating the western lifestyle. So the Chi-pao had an improvement, the curve of the body from cover to appear .This improvement had changed the old mode of Chi-pao. Chi-pao quickly become popular around China from Shanghai. From that time, Chi-pao became Chinese women’s fashion with the unique ethnic characteristics.
