Mad or not? = mad or not mad(省略)?

or not 在疑問詞的后面, 表示是還不是, 選擇概念

Why do people think the writer is mad?

drive sb. mad 逼某人發(fā)瘋

drive v.　駕駛, 開車

You are driving me mad.

The teacher is slowly driving me mad.

night and day 日日夜夜 ([naItAndei] 注意連讀)

passing planes 過往飛機(jī); pass v.passing 作定語; 正在經(jīng)過的(路過)

sleeping baby 正在睡覺的小孩

waiting car　正在等待的車

be built

years ago = many years ago

for some reason　由于某個(gè)理由

some + 可數(shù)名詞單數(shù) : some　表示某一個(gè)

some+不可數(shù)名詞 : 一些 some water

some+可數(shù)名詞復(fù)數(shù) : 一些 some books

some+可數(shù)名詞單數(shù) : 某一 some book

however 用于句首, 句中, 用逗號(hào)隔開

come into use : into prep.;　use n.投入使用; 主動(dòng)概念, 沒有被動(dòng)式

be used 被動(dòng)表示　被使用

use [ju:s] n. [ju:z] vt. 注意n 與vt 的讀音不同

over a hundred ...一百多

must have done 過去發(fā)生, 推測

must have been done　被動(dòng)

drive　逼

away from 從某地離開/away 離開某地

their homes　他們的家; house　房子/home 家

by the noise 被噪音

over a hundred people 主語

must have been done 謂語

away from　從某地離開; out of somewhere 從某地出來

one of ... 之一

left : leave　過去分詞, 表示被留下來的

left作定語放在被修飾詞的后面, 剩下的……東西

I have a bag left.

There is ten cents left in my pocket.  Cent [sent] n.(貨幣單位)分, 分幣

will be done 被動(dòng)語態(tài)的將來時(shí)態(tài)

knock down　撞到

offer [5RfE(r); C:fEr] : given, give sb. sth./give sth.to sb.雙賓語

雙賓語的被動(dòng)語態(tài) : 主語有兩種可能; 以sb.做主語或以sth.做主語

被動(dòng)語態(tài)的標(biāo)志　be done

1、give sb. sth.

被動(dòng)　sb. be given sth.

2、give sth. to sb.

被動(dòng) sth. be given to sb.

用離動(dòng)詞最近的賓語做主語

原文句型結(jié)構(gòu) sb. be offered sth.

to不定式表示目的

go away :leave

be determined to do sth.下定決心做某事

Everybody says...

從句　I must be mad

they are probably right.他們也許是對的

probably adv.很可能

文章重點(diǎn)

1. 復(fù)雜句型結(jié)構(gòu) : over a hundred people must have been driven away from their homes by the noise.

2. 雙賓語的被動(dòng)語態(tài) : I have been offered a large sum of money to go away.(表目的)

3. drive sb.; away from somewhere;  drive sb. mad

4. passing plane; -ing作定語, 表示正在
