Idol Worship in My Eyes
Most people have their idols, be it scientists or pop singers. Many youngsters, in particular, worshipstars in the sports and entertainment field, who catch most of the public attention.

It is hard to say whether idol worshiping is good or bad, for it is not a black-and-white issue. Forone thing, idols may inspire they young people in different ways. Usually, these public figures walkinto the spotlight after a great amount of hard work, therefore they set up role models as talentedand industrious persons. But for another thing, it may not be wise to blindly admire anyone. Someyoungsters try to imitate their idols——dressing, pronunciation, life style and everything. This isdangerous, because to err is human and stars have their weaknesses as well, and in some cases,even scandals.

As I perceive this phenomenon, there is nothing wrong with idol worshiping inherently. Whatmatter are the aspects in which we admire them and to what extent it goes. Even if a certain staralways presents a good public image, the "worship" should not go to such extreme as pureimitation, otherwise there will be a lot of "carbon copies" lacking individuality.
