當(dāng)我還在紐約州立大學(xué)讀書(shū)的時(shí)候,有一次我想注冊(cè)一門課,但聽(tīng)說(shuō)這門課不容易對(duì)付,所以我就向一個(gè)修過(guò)這門課的美國(guó)同學(xué)打聽(tīng)情況,他說(shuō)“I remember that was an early class for me,and I always fell asleep during the class。I was out cold。”
"Out cold?“我想,這一定是"catch cold”的意思,所以我就深表同情的說(shuō):“你又生病又能堅(jiān)持上課,真不容易!”
“What?”他一臉的迷惑,我也覺(jué)得奇怪。
后來(lái)我才知道,"out cold“是打瞌睡的意思,他是說(shuō)因?yàn)樯险n很早,所以他忍不住想睡覺(jué),而我的理解竟相差十萬(wàn)八千里!
