Gyllenhaal, 43, shared that he auditioned for Baz Luhrmann’s movie musical Moulin Rouge. While the role ultimately went to Ewan McGregor, Gyllenhaal said that the role of Christian was between himself, McGregor, 52, and the late Heath Ledger.
