Randy Johnson, one of the greatest pitchers in baseball history, will auction his private enclave in Paradise Valley, Arizona, "without reserve," meaning he’ll sell it to the highest bidder no matter how low the price goes.

Mr. Johnson, 55, a Hall of Famer who pitched for the Arizona Diamondbacks, Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees, tried to sell the five-acre estate through the traditional list-and-wait method for the past five years, with asking prices ranging from $14.5 million to $25 million, listing records show.

"Just as you would sell art and cars through auctions, real estate auction firms provide an alternative platform to sell ultra-luxe properties efficiently within a given timeframe."
