　　At the end of the rope的字面意思是“在繩子的尾端，到了盡頭”，比喻為“山窮水盡，智窮力竭”的意思。此語(yǔ)常用來(lái)形容處于束手無(wú)策，精疲力竭或忍無(wú)可忍的人。表示對(duì)某人忍無(wú)可忍了，在短語(yǔ)的后面用解詞with，即：at the end of the rope with sb. 表示對(duì)某事無(wú)計(jì)可施，在短語(yǔ)后面用介詞over，即：atthe end of the rope over sth.
