　　1. 解詞釋義

　　有的人明知自己有壞習(xí)慣，也很想把它改掉?？墒敲看蜗露Q心后不久又慢慢走上回頭路，之前所下的功夫就全功盡棄了。美國人就把這樣的人叫做“backslider”，指“想改掉壞習(xí)慣，但改了一段時間后又恢復(fù)老習(xí)慣的人。”

　　它是動詞“backslide”的名詞形式，則表示做這樣的事情的人。Backslide的意思有“退步，倒退，故態(tài)復(fù)萌;退縮回去;重犯錯誤”。例如： You've done a good job in the exam, I hope you won't backslide.(你考試考得不錯，我希望你不要退步。)The national economy, meanwhile, is continuing to backslide.(美國經(jīng)濟，在此期間，正在繼續(xù)倒退。)

　　2. 拓展范例

　　A: You promised to have your homework done before 7 o’clock. Now you eat your word again.

　　e.g. My father smokers who give up before 30.
