　　注：英國是一個(gè)島國，離不開水;而我們中國的許多地區(qū)深處內(nèi)陸，人們的生活離不開土地。所以，英語中有

　　許多習(xí)語與“水”有關(guān)，而漢語卻常常拿“土”作比。這就是為什么同樣是比喻花錢浪費(fèi)，大手大腳，英語是

　　spend money like water，而漢語卻是“揮金如土”。此外，英語中還有很多有關(guān)船和水的習(xí)語，例如：rest on one's oars(暫時(shí)歇一歇)，keep one's head above water(奮力圖存)，be all at sea(不知所措)等等。
