The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger on December 17, 1997. The short form "blog" was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word "weblog" into the phrase "we blog".“博客”(weblog)一詞最早是由Jorn Barger于1997年12月17日創(chuàng)造的。其簡寫形式“blog”的出現(xiàn)則歸功于Peter Merholz的玩笑之舉。他將“weblog”一詞分解成了“we blog”。

Before blogging became popular, digital communication took many other forms , including e-mail, Bulletin Board Systems (BBS) and so on. The modem blog evolved from the online diary, where people keep a running account of their personal lives. Based on click ratio , blogs can be ranked. Nowadays, blog has been accepted and sought after by general public.

在博客廣為流行之前，數(shù)字化的交流方式有許多其他形式，例如電子郵件，電子論壇等等?，F(xiàn)代博客形式最初是由網(wǎng)絡(luò)日志演化而來。在日志里，人們記錄其生活中發(fā)生的點點滴滴。依據(jù)點擊量，可以對博客進(jìn)行排名。如今，博客已經(jīng)逐漸走向大眾并成為人們追逐的對象。
