Recent studies have shown that a growing number of college students in China plagiarize.

最近的研究表明許多中國學生抄襲。

And some universities have hence adopted compulsory course on intellectual integrity.

許多大學為學生開設了知識產(chǎn)權課。

Some people believe that in this way students will treat the issue seriously,

許多人認為通過這種方法學生可以重視這樣的問題

while others are negative and regard it as formalistic.

但是還有人認為這樣做純粹是一種形式主義的做法。

As far as I am concerned,

我認為

the intellectual integrity course will to some extent help change the situation.

知識產(chǎn)權在一定程度上將改變這一情況。

On the one hand,

一方面

intellectual integrity course emphasizes the education of academic morality

知識產(chǎn)權重視的是學術的道德教育

and helps students to develop a good academic attitude.

并幫助學生培養(yǎng)正確的學術態(tài)度。

The phenomenon of plagiarizing in college is the consequence of competitive psychology.

大學的抄襲現(xiàn)象是心里攀比的一種結果。

In the modern society,

在現(xiàn)代社會中

as the pace of life has quickened,

隨著生活節(jié)奏的加快

the worship of money influences the college students.

對于金錢的崇拜感影響了大學生的行為。

They are inclined to become so impulsive and impatient that they even dont want to think.

他們更有可能在某些事情上不假思索。

They are worried about the failure and hope to be better than others.

他們擔心失敗帶來的結果并希望自己勝于他人。

But in fact they are not as capable as required.

但是事實上他們還沒有達到要求。

So they want to win by unscrupulous means.

所以他們想通過不道德的方式贏取勝利。

And then plagiarism occurs.

抄襲就是其中之一。

In the final analysis it is the question of intellectual integrity.

那么這將會涉及到知識產(chǎn)權問題。

The aim of the course is to cultivate students to be honest.

課程的目的就是要讓學生變得更加誠實。

It will help students realize the importance of honesty

這將幫助學生認識到誠實的重要性

and it is really a great shame to plagiarize.

抄襲是可恥的。

On the other hand,

從另一方面說

although it can help,

這門課程也幫助學生

the intellectual integrity course is not all that is needed to prevent plagiarizing.

知識產(chǎn)權課程不僅可以避免抄襲。

Education in ideology can help students be aware of the wrongness of plagiarism is wrong,

教育的精神將讓學生意識到抄襲是錯誤的行為

but the colleges still need to establish clear operational norms and regulations

但是大學還需要建立清晰的行為準則和管理條例

to put an end to that sort of thing.

這樣我們才能制止這樣的事情發(fā)生。

Some universities have related norms mainly including publishing the plagiarists name,

許多大學已經(jīng)建立了相關的法規(guī)包括公布抄襲者姓名

registering in his personal file

記錄在個人檔案中

and even cancelling his degree.

或者取消他的學歷資格。

Strict requirement, management, surveillance, rewards and punishment will be pursued.

我們要建立嚴格的管理、監(jiān)管、懲罰、獎勵等措施。

Then plagiarism will be prevented effectively.

這樣我們就能夠有效地避免抄襲。

For the above reasons and a lot more not mentioned here,

就上述原因以及沒有涉及的方面

we can reach the conclusion

結論是

that the intellectual integrity course can help prevent plagiarism in college.

知識產(chǎn)權課程能夠幫助大學避免抄襲現(xiàn)象。

And the clear operational norms and regulations also should be established.

我們還應建立清晰的行為管理機制。

The universities and colleges should put the education in ideology in priority,

大學和學院應該把教育思想放在首位

and the academic institutions should encourage not only the achievements in scientific research,

學院應該鼓勵學生不僅要在科學領域獲得成就

but also the virtue of honesty.

而且還要宣揚誠實的美德。

Only in this way can plagiarism be prevented thoroughly.

只有這樣我們才能完全杜絕抄襲。
