This is us , one blue dot, For centuries, we have questioned. What`s the most fundamental element of the matter structure. Where is it coming from? What`s the beginning? Why there so much more matter than the antimatter in our universe. So far the question is not yet answered clearly . I`m very curious I want to know I want to learn about things, I want to answer.

這就是我們，一個(gè)藍(lán)色的星球。千百年來(lái)，我們都對(duì)它充滿疑惑。物質(zhì)的構(gòu)成最基本的是什么？它從何而來(lái)？一切是怎么開始的？為什么宇宙中的物質(zhì)多余反物質(zhì)？到目前為止，這些問(wèn)題還沒有明確的答案。我很好奇，我想要了解這些事物，我想要答案。

These questions have inspired generation of particle physicists to discover and push the limits of science.

這些問(wèn)題啟發(fā)了一代又一代的粒子物理學(xué)家，去發(fā)現(xiàn)和推動(dòng)科學(xué)的極限。

In 1950, China became part of this endeavor. Since than at the Institute of High Energy Physics. Her most brilliant scientists have dedicated their to this journey.

在1950年，中國(guó)加入了這一行列。從那時(shí)起，高能物理研究所里的最杰出的科學(xué)家們將他們的一生就貢獻(xiàn)給了這趟旅行。

With thousands of scientists and researches, IHEP has been pushing the boundaries of particle and astrophysics. Particle physics is the filed that is trying to answer the most fundamental question about what everything is made of. Our focus are in two directions. One is we try to understand the physics beyond the standard model. Secondly we try to understand the universe by looking for X rays also the cosmic rays. So that we can understand the extreme phenomena in the universe.

高能物理研究所里邊有數(shù)千名科學(xué)家和科研人員，他們推動(dòng)著粒子和天體物理學(xué)的發(fā)展邊界。粒子物理學(xué)是一個(gè)試圖來(lái)回答最基本問(wèn)題的領(lǐng)域，關(guān)于什么是萬(wàn)物之本。我們關(guān)注的方向有兩個(gè)，一個(gè)是我們?cè)噲D去理解超越標(biāo)準(zhǔn)模型的物理；第二點(diǎn)是我們?cè)噲D通過(guò)X射線和宇宙射線來(lái)了解宇宙，這樣我們就能夠了解宇宙里的極端現(xiàn)象。

To study these fundamental units of the universe. IHEP has put a lot of effort into state of the art facilities. Such as the Beijing Electron Positron Collider at the heart of China. With discovered a new particle.

為了研究宇宙中這些最基本的單位，高能所在先進(jìn)的設(shè)備上投入了大量的心血。位于中國(guó)中心的北京正負(fù)電子對(duì)撞機(jī)，幫助發(fā)現(xiàn)了一種新的粒子。

The Large High Altitude Air Shower Observatory and the Hard X-ray Modulation Telescope were created to detect cosmic rays further than we can ever imagine. In Dongguan, IHEP built the first pulsed neutron spallation source in developing countries , to study the micro-structure of materials.

高海拔宇宙線觀測(cè)站和X射線調(diào)制望遠(yuǎn)鏡的誕生，是為了探測(cè)宇宙射線，其作用超越了我們的想象。在東莞，高能所建設(shè)了首個(gè)位于發(fā)展中國(guó)家的脈沖散列中子源，用于研究物質(zhì)的微觀結(jié)構(gòu)。

The Days Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment built in Shenzhen, provides new insights into the behaviors of neutrinos. One of the most abundant particles in the universe. And one that`s likely responsible for making us .

位于深圳的大亞灣中微子實(shí)驗(yàn)室，為研究中微子的行為提供了新的視角。它是宇宙中最豐富的粒子之一，它可能是我們宇宙形成的根源所在。

Those important discoveries opens new area for studying neutrino physics. The experiments led by this institute, has already contributed many great results. Ending up in the textbook of particle physics.

這些重要的發(fā)現(xiàn)，為研究中微子物理開辟了新的領(lǐng)域。由于這個(gè)研究所所領(lǐng)導(dǎo)的實(shí)驗(yàn)，已經(jīng)做出了許多偉大的貢獻(xiàn)，并且最終出現(xiàn)在了粒子物理的教科書中。

But still we have unknowns puzzles and difficulties. To do a better research, we need both theoretical ideas and also the tools. For a better tomorrow, IHEP has been investing in new mega-science facilities, To study extreme tiny particles, found in our everyday life environment. IHEP is now digging 700 meters under the surface, to build the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory.

但是我們?nèi)匀挥性S多未知、謎題以及困難，為了做更好的研究，我們需要理論、思路和工具。高能所在持續(xù)不斷的為未來(lái)建設(shè)新的大科學(xué)設(shè)施，為了研究我們?nèi)粘Ｉ瞽h(huán)境中發(fā)現(xiàn)的極端微小的粒子。高能所正在地表700米以下開展挖掘工作，用于建設(shè)江門中微子實(shí)驗(yàn)站。

By 2025, IHEP Energy Photon Source in northern Beijing, will finally be operational.To study the Higgs particle, the most important subject in particle physics. IHEP has planned the circular positron collider, that would create Higgs particles for research.

到2025年，位于北京北部的高能所同步輻射光源，將會(huì)投入使用。為了研究粒子物理中最終的主體-希格斯粒子，高能所已經(jīng)建立計(jì)劃，環(huán)形正負(fù)電子對(duì)撞機(jī)用來(lái)制造用于研究的希格斯粒子。

These infrastructures are made by China. But for the rest of world. Because at the heart of IHEP is a belief that particle physics research should be accessible to everyone.

這些基礎(chǔ)設(shè)施是中國(guó)所建，但是為了全世界。因?yàn)楦吣芩暮诵男拍钍?，每個(gè)人都能接觸到粒子物理研究。

This special facility will be for the whole community, with people from outside together, with people from China. We`re gonna run together this big project.

這一特殊的設(shè)施，將會(huì)提供給整個(gè)社會(huì)使用，和來(lái)自國(guó)外的人一起，我們將會(huì)一起來(lái)運(yùn)行這個(gè)項(xiàng)目。

We want international people to cooperate with us. And I think this is happening now, it is growing. Great endeavor takes effort ,time and most importantly, friends. While the journey ahead is long and arduous. The mission is clear. Pursuing answers about nature is something that a civilization requires. That`s very important and very high level as well.

我們希望國(guó)際社會(huì)與我們協(xié)同合作，我們認(rèn)為，這種情況正在發(fā)生，并且在不斷發(fā)展。偉大的努力需要奮斗和時(shí)間，以及最重要的合作伙伴。盡管前方道阻且長(zhǎng)，但是我們目標(biāo)明確。追求自然的答案，是文明的需要，這是十分重要的，同時(shí)也是非常高水平的體現(xiàn)。

What we are doing right now, may not find applications today, but it will be useful in the future. So my hope is that IHEP will eventually become one of the leading laboratories in the world. With an open and inquisitive mind the Institute of High Energy Physics may one day answer the toughest questions about time, dimensions and how everything begins and ends.

我們現(xiàn)在所作的，也許目前還沒有得到應(yīng)用，但在將來(lái)肯定會(huì)十分有用。我希望高能所最中能夠成為世界上領(lǐng)先的實(shí)驗(yàn)室之一。秉承開放和好奇，高能所在未來(lái)會(huì)給出有關(guān)時(shí)間和維度、以及萬(wàn)物起源與結(jié)束的答案。
