當(dāng)拿到一個(gè)半成品的圈餅時(shí)，悲觀的人看到的是一個(gè)不完整的面包，總會(huì)為中間沒(méi)有面餅的洞不高興，想強(qiáng)迫性把把這個(gè)圈餅補(bǔ)成一塊完整的餅。而樂(lè)觀的人，看到這個(gè)圈餅時(shí)，看到了它可以做成各種顏色，各種口味甜甜圈的可能。今天分享一個(gè)英語(yǔ)小故事，摘選自蔡志忠的漫畫。講述的就是悲觀者和樂(lè)觀者在面對(duì)同樣的人和事時(shí)完全不同的反應(yīng)。

A long time ago, when China was pided into many small countries, there was a merchant who lived in Song, a country in northern China. He brought men's hats and shirts to the country of Yue in southern China, thinking that he would make a great fortune...

有一個(gè)宋國(guó)人,帶著帽子和衣服到南方的越國(guó)去販賣,他以為可以大賺一筆。

Come! Buy new clothing here! I have shirts and hats that are handsome and fashionable!

買衣服哦!漂亮又新潮的衣帽呀!

However, the fashion in the Yue area was for men to keep their hair short and tattoo the naked upper body. They didn't wear shirts or hats at all.

但是,越人的風(fēng)俗是留短頭發(fā),文身,赤裸著胸膛,都不穿衣戴帽。

于是,他寫信給他的老婆說(shuō):

Therefore, the merchant wrote to his wife:

This was a total disaster. No man here wears any shirts or hats. They keep their upper bodies naked. I am coming right home.

很慘,這兒的人全都赤身不穿衣戴帽,我馬上回去…

There was another merchant from Zheng (another country in northern China) who also brought
men's shirts and hats to do business in the country of Yue...

又有一鄭國(guó)人也同樣帶著衣帽來(lái)到越國(guó)做生意…

He also discovered that the custom of Yue men was to keep the upper body naked.

他也發(fā)現(xiàn)了越人的習(xí)俗是赤身不穿衣戴帽的。

-We guys here never wear shirts or hats.

咱們這里的從來(lái)都不穿衣戴帽的。
-That’s exactly why I came here.

這也是我來(lái)這里的原因。

Therefore, he also wrote a letter back to his wife in Zheng.
于是,他也寫一封信回鄭國(guó)給他的老婆。

No man here wears shirts or hats. It's the best market! Please send a large quantity of shirts and hats to Yue by mail.

這里沒(méi)有人穿衣戴帽,是個(gè)最佳的市場(chǎng),速寄大批衣帽到越國(guó)來(lái)。

Under the same situation, the viewpoint from pessimism and optimism are extreme opposites.
Things usually are not absolutely good or bad, nice or evil. How do we perceive? What do we do? It entirely depends upon ourselves.

相同的狀況,悲觀和樂(lè)觀的看法卻是兩極。事情沒(méi)有絕對(duì)的好壞.善、惡,要怎么想?要怎么做?完全在于自己!
