People Are Posting “2020 Versions” Of Things

Wonderful. Magical. Lovely. All of these are words that totally do not describe 2020 for most of us. It’s been a long and exhausting uphill battle of a year. And even though we can see a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, it’ll take a while to get over what a disaster of a year we’ve had.

People are venting their feelings about 2020 in meme-form and comparing it to a whole bunch of defective, badly-designed things and disgusting-looking food. Scroll down, upvote your fave ‘if 2020 was a’ pics collected by Bored Panda, and let us know what you think this year most closely resembles. They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, some of these images are certainly 100% how we feel about the year.

Bored Panda reached out to 'Know Your Meme's' Senior Editor, Matt Schimkowitz, to get his take on what 2020 has been like and if we can expect things to get better once the year on the calendar changes. Matt said that if he had to compare 2020 to a thing, it'd be a "dead fish wrapped in a soiled newspaper swimming in a pool of garbage water" and pointed out that even though memes "help keep things light," the reality is that nothing can replace "the loss that so many people have suffered this year."

Just to give you a brief reminder of some of what we went through in 2020, don’t forget the fires, the threat of WW3, Brexit stuff happening, the ongoing global pandemic, and even more fires. And that's not all...
