Since the discovery of the La Brea pits, paleontologists have removed and catalogued over 1 million bones representing over 230 different species of animals.

從發(fā)現(xiàn)拉布雷亞瀝青坑以來，古生物學家已經(jīng)移出并編目了超過一百萬個的骨頭，這些骨頭代表著兩百三十個不同的動物物種。

The majority of these bones belonged to herbivores.

But among them were the bones of the mega bear.

The discovery of the short faced bear skeleton in the La Brea Tar Pits is pretty important because its one more piece of evidence to show how far these bears roamed.

And wherever they went, they took up the role as top predator.
